Lightning Enable, built by Refined Element.
Lightning Enable is infrastructure for agentic commerce over Lightning — software paying software, per request, over the Bitcoin Lightning Network. The product has its own home at lightningenable.com.
What it is
AI agents are starting to buy — tools, data, execution, APIs. Card rails are built for human identity and checkout flows; agent workflows need machine-native payment and authorization rails instead.
Lightning Enable wraps any HTTP API with a small middleware.
Agents get a 402 Payment Required with a
Lightning invoice, pay it in under a second, and retry with
a cryptographic proof of payment. Payment becomes
authorization — and your existing subscriptions, rate
limits, and API keys stay exactly as they are.
Built here
Refined Element is an AI-driven Xperience by Kentico development consultancy with a deep specialty in Bitcoin Lightning payments. Lightning Enable grew out of integration work for clients who wanted to accept Lightning alongside their existing pricing — first inside Kentico Commerce, then Shopify, then as a generalized middleware for any HTTP API.
Today Lightning Enable is a standalone product with its own site, docs, dashboard, MCP server, and open-source HTTP client libraries in TypeScript, Python, and .NET. The L402 protocol implementation tracks the Lightning Labs spec and contributes back where the spec needs hardening.
Refined Element built Lightning Enable; lightningenable.com is now the product's primary home. This page explains the relationship; the main site sells the product.

The main product site lives at lightningenable.com — live demo, pricing, and full pitch. The documentation covers the L402 protocol, SDK integration, and the MCP server. Both pricing tiers ($99/mo Individual, $299/mo Business) include a 30-day free trial — card required, nothing charged until day 31.
